Benjamin “Ben” Snow passed away after an all too brief battle against terminal lung disease January 17, 2023 in San Angelo, TX at the age of 59. He was born in Jasper, AL.

Ben is survived by his wife of thirty years, Christi Snow along with their two children, 27-year-old Jacob who is a member of the Washington Air National Guard and 15-year-old Oliver who is a sophomore at Central High School.

Ben was an active duty maintenance officer in the Air Force for 21 years, retiring to San Angelo in 2010 where he began work as an oilfield superintendent. In 2020, he went back to his Department of Defense roots as a program manager for a government contractor at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX. He retired in October, 2022.

Everyone who knew Ben knew him as a great guy with an infectious smile and laugh. An outdoorsman, he loved backpacking, bicycling, and boats of every kind. He was an avid reader and has a truly impressive library filled with a wide array of subjects from western history, to classic literature about the fall of Rome, to the art of saddle making, to just about every book ever published on the art of sailing, and everything in between.

A wonderful father, husband, and friend, his passing has left a hole in all our lives.

Condolences for the family may be offered at www.westtexascremation.com .

When Death Occurs

Since most deaths occur in health care institutions such as hospitals and nursing homes, the attending staff may provide you with some preliminary information. If the death occurs at home, please notify the physician or attending registered nurse (if the death was unexpected or if there are any peculiar circumstances, phone the Police immediately). If the deceased was under hospice care at home, they should have left some basic information for you to follow. No matter what circumstance, our brief checklist will help you along the way.
