Josephine Valdez, age 60, of San Angelo Texas lost her courageous battle to cancer on November 2, 2019. Josephine was born in Pleasanton, Texas on November 13, 1958. Throughout her childhood she lived in Winters, Texas and Ypsilanti, Michigan. At the age of 17 she moved from Michigan to Sonora, Texas where she married Merced Valdez Jr. and had 3 daughters. In 1993 her husband passed away and she became a widow. In 1998 she moved to San Angelo, Texas where she lived for 21 years. She loved living in San Angelo and enjoyed shopping and going to movies with her family and friends. She was always full of life and enjoyed making people smile. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Jovita Mancha. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Martinez & husband Lonnie Martinez; Monica Valdez, Marissa Parras & husband Alonso Parras; sister, Rosa Villarreal; sister, Lilly Trevino and husband Anastacio Trevino; sister Amelia Cortez; sister, Mary Pena; sister, Margie Segura and husband Felix Segura; sister, Eva Granado; and brother Edward Mancha Jr.; granddaughters Kaitlyn Martinez and Juliana Sandate; grandsons, Brandon Martinez, Matthew Martinez and Elijah Parras, Nikko Coria-Parras including numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.

Shaffer Funeral home complied with Josephine’s wishes to be cremated and not to have a service. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and love, at this time of loss. God bless each and every one of you. A very special thank you to Hospice of San Angelo and Visiting Angel’s home healthcare, Dr Cerna and Dr. Cheruku for all their support through this difficult time.

Josie....you are missed beyond measure. You were my friend but more like my sister. Phillip misses your adventures and movie trips.
We will keep all our memories and treasure them always.
