On March 18, 2022, Michael Edward McAlexander closed his eyes permanently on this earth to open them for an eternity looking into the eyes of our Father in Heaven's Kingdom. Michael "Mike", my Daddy was able to walk, run, and jump without pain or anguish for the first time in such a long time with his heavenly body. For this brings us hope and joy, that no matter how much longing and want for those that are already in the Promised Land, what we have to look forward to. Michael was born on May 16, 1951 to Dr. Edward J. McAlexander and Marjorie Marie Bieber McAlexander here in San Angelo. His parents and his younger brother Mark, were there to welcome him home. Awaiting to join him some day, his daughter Lori Ann Lara and son-in-law Sean, his twin grandchildren, Lawson and SkyeLee Lara, and his oldest brother Patrick McAlexander of Dallas. Mike aka "George" (to name a few) was a Pressman by trade and during his younger years worked for Dallas Morning Newspaper, Standard Times, and Livestock Weekly/Publisher's Web. Michael's pastimes were watching the Three Stooges, listening to Music from the 50-70's, the Family Feud (with Steve Harvey), and at one point a Bingo Godfather at the center that he lived in. However, his greatest passion was knowing he was "PapPo" to his twin grandbabies. As his daughter, I would like to take the time to recognize the nursing home field for their underappreciated-often overlooked dedication to the industry.
Whether it be house keeping, laundry services, aids, maintenance, food services, and nurses, it takes a network of compassion to look out for our loved ones. Thank you. In honor of my Dad, please take a moment to watch The 3 Stooges, listen to the Rolling Stones, play a game of Bingo, enjoy a Dr. Pepper and more importantly invite the Lord into your heart. In favor of his wishes, there will not be any services. The family welcomes anyone to Lori's home at 3102 Edgewood Dr. Friday, March 25th from 2-6pm to share thoughts and memories. The list of caregivers that tended to my father throughout the years at San Angelo Nursing and Rehab is extensive and I hold all of you dear to my heart and will be forever grateful for. "When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory." Col 3:4

When Death Occurs

Since most deaths occur in health care institutions such as hospitals and nursing homes, the attending staff may provide you with some preliminary information. If the death occurs at home, please notify the physician or attending registered nurse (if the death was unexpected or if there are any peculiar circumstances, phone the Police immediately). If the deceased was under hospice care at home, they should have left some basic information for you to follow. No matter what circumstance, our brief checklist will help you along the way.
